THE ANIMAL TESTING ISSUE IN AUSTRALIA
What is animal testing?
Animal testing is carried out by cosmetic brands in order to determine whether a product is suitable for human use. These animals are forced to be inhumanely tested on for these products using injections, surgeries and forcing them to consume substances. These animals are severely damaged internally and externally which is detrimental to their health. These animals are tested on for our use, for research that can be gathered in a more ethical way.
Issues surrounding animal testing
The main issue of Animal Testing is that these tests cause damage to their quality of life just for the purpose of "research". This can be harmful to the population of Australia's beloved animals. Mice, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, farm animals, birds, cats, dogs, small pigs and monkeys are used for animal testing. These companies test on animals because they are thought to have no "emotion", no "feelings". They are seen an inferior to the human race. But they are not, they do have emotion, they do have feeling, just as much as us humans. This is why it is so important to STOP Animal Testing world wide starting with Australia.
Why is it important to buy cruelty free products?
It is important to stop buying products that use animal testing as a form of research because if we as consumers stop buying from these companies, they will go out of business. This is so important and we can't stress this enough because these companies need to be shut down in order to make progress in the action to stop Animal Testing.
Facts
- More than 6 million animals are used annually in research and teaching in Australia and New Zealand alone.
- These animals are subjected to some degree of pain and/or stress during the experiment procedure or as a result of the environment in which they are kept prior and/or after.
- 26 million animals are used every year for animal testing in the United States. That's more than the human population of Australia.
